Saayahnam (Saayahnam Charitable Trust / HELP Foundation)

Saayahnam is a charitable residential old age home run by the Saayahnam Charitable Trust under the HELP Foundation (Human Empowerment & Livelihood Promotion Foundation) in Venga P.O, ICS Junction, Sasthamcotta, Kollam. It provides shelter and care to indigent, destitute, elderly and homeless women who have no family members or resources to take care of them. Residents are functionally independent and ambulant, and indigent inmates are encouraged to assist infirm inmates so the home functions as one family without discrimination.

The home offers residential care along with nursing care, counselling services, physiotherapy programmes, and worship and fellowship gatherings. Its facilities include a prayer hall, a dormitory with attached toilets and bathrooms, a dining hall, a kitchen, an open terrace and a garden.

The home is governed by a nine-member governing body led by Sr Shanthi Antony. The property was donated by Mr. Titus Joseph Fernandez and family in memory of their parents.
