Sahajeevanam Geriatric Care Centre

Sahajeevanam Geriatric Care Centre is a non-profit elder-care facility based in Sultanpet, Palakkad, Kerala, operated by Sahajeevanam Foundation (a Section 8 company under the Companies Act 2013). It provides residential assisted living and a hospice with nursing and medical oversight for elderly and bedridden patients, including those with terminal illnesses such as cancer, CVA paralysis and age-related conditions.

The centre offers person-centred residential care, dementia and memory care with family counselling, 24/7 trained caregiver and nursing support, doctor visits, physiotherapy, holistic medicine (Ayurveda and Homeopathy) and geriatric dentistry. Short-term respite stays and extended stays are available, and vegetarian meals and doctor services at regular intervals are provided.

Beyond residential care, Sahajeevanam runs community palliative and geriatric programmes that adopt villages, colonies and residential complexes, operating a 24x7 helpline, periodic health check-ups and specialty clinics. Palliative care is offered free of cost to eligible residents of Palakkad municipality and Maruthar Road. The Executive Director is A. Unnikannan (Manoj). A second branch operates in Thrissur.
